Australian Owner Builder Permit Regulations

As you may be aware, all Owner Builders in Australia are now required to have an Owner Builder Licence or Owner Builder Permit if they wish to build. This regulation has been set up to help ensure Owner Builders get the right training and advice so that they can finish their building projects successfully, safely and economically.

What you may not be aware of is that:

1. Every state and territory regulates Owner Builders differently. So accessing the training relevant to the state you wish to build in is vital.

2. Getting an Owner Builder Permit or Licence in one state does not allow you to undertake an Owner Building project in another. You must acquire a permit or licence for each state or territory you plan to build in.
